Yaeji, a New York based musician and visual artist, makes what I call 'mood music'.

Conventionally, her songs might be classified as 'psychedelic pop', among other things. Think- Glass Animals, but trippy in a different way. Her distinctive style is instantly recognisable and in a way, almost hypnotising. Even though you may not immediately vibe with her sound, it -she- is certainly intriguing.

The downside to her originality, however, is that her songs are usually very 'hit or miss', depending on your taste.

Hits: Drink I'm Sippin On, Red, Last Breath, New York 93, Noonside, Therapy.
Misses: Raingurl, Feel It Out, Guap.

Yaeji is not someone you listen to all the time, but rather, savour at appropriate moments.

Admittedly, Yaeji is not for everybody, but if you're willing to give her music a listen, a good one to start on would be her remix of 'Passionfruit' (linked above).
