// A TIME OF VISUALISATIONS // TROYE SIVAN, HALSEY AND THE 1975 VIDEO REVIEW //

The end of February brought about 3 mega (video) releases, or atleast, that's what they seemed like to the right fanbase...

We got Troye Sivan releasing his 'Youth' video ; we got The 1975 releasing a video for 'The Sound' ; and we got Halsey and her 'Colours' video.
Oh, also, 'I like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it' came out.
In short, it was just a lot of awesomeness at once. Let's get on to it...

Troye Sivan - Youth :

Probably my favourite song of the three, it is light and fun. Although, I must confess, the line 'My youth is yours' has always confused me ( Is it him telling the listener that his youth was/is like theirs? Is it a 'thank you' to his parents? ) ; the song has some great imagery.
Also, can we all just take a moment to appreciate the fact that the official lyrics were included in the video description? Yes. That is why Troye Sivan is awesome.
The best line would probably be 'Mortal bodies, timeless souls'.

Halsey - Colours :

Yet another song with great lyrical imagery. Though the song has all the colours you'd need, the video did not disappoint.
Halsey reigned in Tyler Posey from Teen Wolf for the captivating and slightly unnerving video (you'll understand if you watch the end).
The song itself is said to be about The 1975's Matty Healy. I must say, I love the concept.

The lyrics are deep but comforting, my favourite being : ' Now he's so devoid of colour he don't know what it means' (excuse the grammar).
The spoken verse during the bridge adds to the effect.

Also, check out Colours Pt.II for a more instrumental version.

The 1975 - The Sound :

Incase you haven't noticed already, this blog is just one giant reference to the 1975. It's title, in particular, comes from this song.

In all honesty, I didn't really like the song when it first came out, but it grew on me.
The video is pretty straightforward, save for the little self depreciating comments in the second half (which are genius). It seems as though the band is saying : "You do your thing, we'll do ours. You criticise our thing, we'll continue doing it anyway".

This song is narcissism personified, and it's in love with itself.
A case in point would be the lyrics, which say: " It's not about reciprocation, it's just all about me".
It is oddly charming, in the 'I enjoy it's messed-up-ness' kind of way. Am I still  making sense?

personally love the instrumental part of the song. Also, favourite lines : 'I don't regret it but I'm glad that we're through'.
